As promised, I've found a venue that is willing to have all 150+ swashbucklers! If you haven't already done so, please RSVP so that I can provide the appropriate amount of staff.

Look for GCSA leaders in Red or White t-shirts with our freshly coined new logo! T-shirts will be available for sale in both women and men-fitted styles- this will help to increase the visibility of our group and act as a fundraiser.

While it is GREATLY PREFERRED that your $10 membership fee (for the season) be paid on-line (via your GCSA profile) you will have an opportunity to pay cash (only) at the door. If you are new to the group, the fee is NOT required to attend this kickoff! But I guarantee, but the end of the night, you'll be hooked!

For those who are providing a table presentation- please be at the Irish Rogue no later than 6 pm for set up. I will send a confirmation email on Saturday.

Can't wait to see all of you!!!

Tara

    •  Great time! I'm happy to have gotten on a boat this weekend!
    •  Another fun event by Tara, John and Karen. Well planned and lots of excitement in the air. Can't wait until the next one! Thanks for the table space. Hope to see many of you at the rigging seminar, http://sailing.me...
    •  It was a great turnout and everyone was very friendly. I made a contact again from last year and met a new captain from Port Washington for 2009. I also liked the location. Terri
    •  What a great group of people! Everyone was very friendly, and Tara did a great job of pulling it all together. Thank you!

It was a great meetup. I don't get down to NYC that much but I had a great time! My second meetup with GCSA. Tara did a great job. I'm sure that she had help so thanks to everyone who put it together.
    •  The turnout was good, with a good mix of boat owners, experienced crew and newbies.
    • Don
Nice way to meet fellow sailors and crew.
    •  Great to finally meet some of our members in person! Would have been good to have everyone's "home port" or where they sail out of (or want to) on their name tags, or even facilitate a more organized way to find affinities. . . maybe even introduce each skipper and have them speak 30 sec from the podium on what they sail, where, and what they are looking for to help crew gravitate towards a boat most suitable to them.
    •  Tara Rocks. She did a great job organizing and finding the place. Lots of sailors - many boat owners, many crew members.

Kudos to Tara, Karen & John -- Thank you for another successful Gotham Sailing Assn. meeting.
    •  Was looking for a boat slip, sailing partners and race opportunities. Found good possibilities for all three and met some folks genuinely interested in sailing.
    •  Had a great time. Everyone was friendly. I think I'm going to have a terrific summer on the water
    •  Kickoff was great, except for the large number of people who were not respectful enough to pause their conversations when Tara was trying to speak. Almost all of them were crew, not boat owners.
    •  met nice ppl, good sailing options.. contact me if u need a crew member! so interested! :-)

What a fun time! It was great to see old friends, and to get excited about the upcoming sailing season.

I went there, so many randam gatherings, was not able to identify whihc this group was. I relunctantly headed out- any noticible sign or something(name tag, registration) should have been placed.
    •  There were the usual core GCSA members that are made up of crew and skippers. These are a great bunch of folks - fun loving and lively as well as serious sailors that love to be on the water. In addition, there were a sizable group of new faces - people eager to experience the water borne side of our urban / geographically natural mix.
