Meetup Description:

City Island Yacht Club will be holding a series of seminars in the Spring and they have invited us to attend. Some of the seminars will have minimal fees and I will update the information as it gets closer. This is a great way to start your sailing season!

April 8 -- Marine Diesel and Electronic Repair and Maintenance by Precision Marine ($20 Admission fee)

Come early to socialize and break bread with your friends—our new Steward will be ready and willing to offer food and drink to your liking. As space is limited, and this Series generates a significant number of attendees, we highly recommend calling in advance and advising the Club of number attending and your diner intentions. The Club’s phone number is [masked].

Please put in your reply if you are arriving early for dinner and be sure to call the club and reserve a table!

Also, since space is limited, please don't respond YES until you are certain that you can make it. Admission:$15

The BxM7B bus leaves 24th and Madison Ave. at 4:45 and 5:15 pm for City Island. Check the schedule for other stops from 24th to 86th St. The fare is five dollars payable by Metrocard, not cash. It picks up passengers going uptown.

April 8th is the Eve Of Passover, which as a Jew Passover Is First: I Know this Will Be Very Important and Extremely Great things to know and information would be Exilent, I would like to take this at another time

Who attended?

  • 17 attendees
    •  It was insightful to learn about new stuff related to both diesel and electronics. Presenters knew their stuff.
    •  This was a great presentation-very organized and informative. Thanks CIYC for opening the class to our meetup members!
    •  Thank you. The information was great. Again, if anyone needs crew. Please contact me, [masked]
    •  I thought it was good, although I definitely appreciated the information on Deisel maintenance more than the description of new electronics. I think it would be GREAT to have a "Winter Layup" class, that only focused on laying up the engine (and other marine systems) and do it in October. If this was offered last fall, I didn't see it and I think it would be very helpful to us DIY'ers! (And would also give us an opportunity to throw some work to a yard if we realize we need/want help at that point. Most of the maintenance that the speaker was telling us to do, he was suggesting to do it at winter layup... it makes sense to me to have this class then!
    •  Extremely informational & helpfull.
    •  Was very well done the people from precision marine really were knowledgable and spent considerable time trying to explain all the material to the audience. Thank You.
