Hi, I've been sailing since I was 12 or 13. I have two schooners, one of which I am trying to sell. I've made several ocean passages, and enjoy fun daysails and cruising most. I really like sailing, and enjoy meeting other people who like sailing.
Not very. I've raced in sheltered water (Long Island Sound, NY Harbor, Georgian Bay) quite a bit, on different boats, but I'm really more interested in sailing for fun, and sailing to go places, than I am in racing around buoys.
Often I am looking for crew. At the moment (June 2009), I am in Brazil, and looking for crew for ocean passages. More info on my blog at http://www.sailblogs.com/member/rhudson/
I've sailed about 40,000 miles.
I have a classic, 40 foot, gaff-rigged, steel schooner in New York, which I am trying to sell. I have a 52' steel staysail schooner which I bought in France and am slowly sailing to North America (currrent location Argentina), or somewhere.
USCG "six-pack" license. I formerly taught sailing for the New York Community Sailing Association, and I teach various classes for this group.
