Sun 10:00 AM
Description

City Island Yacht Club (organized in 1906) is hosting its first of the season Open House to prospective members. We will also host a second Open House the following weekend--February 16 and 17 (others will follow-check www.cityislandyc.org for dates). We will be delighted to meet boat owners, would be owners and non-owners looking to be sailors from 10:00 to 3:30 Saturday and Sunday. The Club is located at the western end of Pilot St. The Lido Restaurant is at the corner of Pilot and City Island Ave. If you are unable to attend and want information, contact the Club at 718 885-2487 or www.cityislandyc.org.

NEW THIS YEAR--A CLUB BOAT. This will allow non-boat owners the opportunity to get out on the water and have fun without actually owning a boat. Visit us to learn the details!

CIYC is known for its hospitality, vitality, sailing and racing prowess. We have deep water for boats with drafts in excess of 7 feet, a dock area that can handle eight vessels simultaneously, two launches that operate 24/7 during the season assuring you total access to your mooring (sorry no slips), a well-known pub and dining room, seminars for new and old sailors, yard storage that can accommodate many vessels and many other Club amenities too numerous to mention.

Its members are active cruisers and racers. Our cruisers venture near and far--from Maine to the Caribbean. Its Cruising Committee hosts several Club cruises during the season. The Committee always looks to add to its schedule.

The Club has been the host for prestigious events such as the Leukemia Cup Regatta and the J 29 North Americans, the City Island Cup, City Island Long Distance Race and a number of other events that draw competitors from afar. Members successfully compete at Block Island Race Week, Newport to Bermuda Race, Key West and many local regattas. These successes have made us well-known as a Sailors' Club.

The Entertainment Committee sponsors many activities that draw members and their guests throughout the season. In short CIYC is an extremely active club for sailors, owners and those who like to be around boats and the water.

Come and meet our membersā??known to be the most friendly on the Island.
