A Journey Through The Nautical Life Of JP Trusilek
JP restores and rescues classic yachts and has raced them successfully for most of his life. He loves single-handing or traveling with crew and does long distance cruising. He has done 3 world circumnavigations and 12 Atlantic crossings. Survived 2 sinkings and 2 dismastings. Was Chairman Of Operations Committee and Trustee as well as member of the Executive Board of the Museum of Yachting, which recently merged with IYRS (International Yacht Restoration School) and was involved the MOY for over 20 years. He is presently consulting for Ted Hood Yachts http://www.tedhoodyac.... out of Portsmouth RI. Ted Hood is a designer of Americas Cup Yachts and skippers for the world famous 12 meter racer Couragous. The company is a top yacht designer and at one time was the largest sailmaker in the world! JP was always associated with nautical enterprises. He races from his home port on Narragansett Bay in Newport with the Jamestown YC Racing Series. His vessel, Checkmate, a 31 ft IOR Design Racing Boat which he restored. JP has logged over 120,000 offshore miles. He has had 22 boats built to his specifications and design which he later raced successfully and sold. This sure to be one of our most exciting talks yet!
The event is located at The Parlour, 250 West 86th Street in their private room.
Dinner is from 6-7 and the talk begins at 7. The event runs from 6-9:30PM.
