- "Hi, I'm a sailing enthusiast residing on LI Sound in New Rochelle and the new owner of a 27' Tartan American Pride, a racing boat moored on C I. I'd like to train crew for Thurs. night Can One races in '08 and possibly EBYRA Wednesday nights"
- Do you own a boat? How much experience do you have?
- " I previously owned a C & C, 24, a cruiser, for a few years. I've taken courses and the tiller in the worst weather LI Sound has to offer but have no racing experience at the helm, so it is sure to be a learning experience. "
- Are you looking to crew? Are you looking for crew?
- " I don't want to poach crew from my mentors, who have been great to me, so I am looking for fresh blood. Availability, aptitude, personality and fitness are more important than experience right now but I'll take all the help I can get. "
- Are you interested in racing, cruising or both?
- "I've raced for the past two seasons out of CIYC, on the ably skippered J30 Excalibur and the Beneteau 367 Whirlwind and a few other boats, a J120 and a J109 among them. I also race out of NYAC on the Beneteau 367 Breakaway. Racing is great but bad weather daysailing is also a passion and a great learning experience. That's not to say that sunny days are unappreciated "
- Have you taken any sailing courses? Do you hold any certifications?
- "I've taken basic sailing and the North U Racing Trim and Tactics courses but still have much to learn. "
- What is the best time and day for a meeting?
- "Those available to become familiar with the boat and each other evenings or weekends this season should let me know. "
