Introduction: Hello, My name is Chris. I have been sailing since I was 10 years old. I grew up on Long Island and raced our family Blue Jay, a 17 foot Whitney. I have owned a 22 Ft. McGregor Venture and then moved up to a Morgan 30' I refitted over 6 months.
Do you have a boat or are you interested in becoming crew on somone's boat?: Yes. A Morgan 30' that I refitted from scratch after buying it on Ebay as only a hull. I've sailed her to Nantucket and back.
What volunteer organizations are you involved with related to sailing?: New York Sailing Club
What, if any professional maritime associations are you involved with.: None, though I worked on a shark boat for 5 years.
What type of sailing do you like to do?: I love cruising and meeting friends for events on the boats. I do some racing occasionally.
Tell us about your sailing experience.: I took lessons when I was 10. A few years ago I circumnavigated Long Island singlehanded on the 22 Ft. McGregor. Have sailed up the Hudson River many times. Have done most of the New England Coast.
