Meetup with other fun and outgoing people interested in sailing (or cruising the bay on a comfortable sailboat) for some super fun, unique, social activity - no sailing experience is necessary. Each Meetup will include: sailing, motor cruising, and a potluck meal. From time to time let's enjoy a stop over on land mid-day at either: d/t Sausalito, Sam's in Tiburon, Angle Island for picnic & croquet, McCovey Cove in SF for Giant's baseball games, anchor at some awesome secret beaches to relax in w …
Going out on the Bay in a comfortable safe boat: teaching a little sailing, talking a little history and really leaving the hardworld behind, if only for a short time. We can keep it casual or maybe do a Corinthian Yacht Club Friday Night "Beer Can" race- in Tiburon; a very low-key event, and I don't try to win, just stay with the tail of the fleet.. Barbecue on the club deck after.

I decided to start this group for a bunch of reasons! First of all people just have to see the San Francisco Bay from the water. There a new world awaits, a new perspective, new sights, sounds, smells. Looking up at the Golden Gate Bridge, seeing dolphins and whales with new friends. Operation of a sailing vessel, plotting and steering a course, raising, triming and stowing sails, cleating lines, dropping anchor, navagating throughout the Bay and the California Coast are all reasons for starting …

… Her life was smooth sailing because she never rocked the boat. She contained her passion, her dreams, and her danger enough that they could call her a good woman”? For some, that would be enough. But not for you. Your epitaph will begin: “She redefined what it meant to be a good woman.” It will say: “She scaled mountains, in hiking boots and in heels. She started in her own backyard and then went all the way around the world. She accepted challenges with curiosity and determination. She emerged …

Writing offers a way for people to connect to deeper, wiser aspects of ourselves – a way for us to find out, as the poet Audre Lorde said, “what we didn’t know we knew.” Almost every writer has experienced mysterious moments when the words that flow from our pens, or from our fingers on a keyboard, seem as if they come from someplace else – a place beyond our small human selves. Sometimes, when we let it happen, it’s as if the words become a little boat, a raft on which we can sail in a large …
